The brown, red and orange colors in this colorway reminded us of the rusted over Bouncers you can find all over Rapture.

With a yarn base called BIOSOCK, you probably already guessed that we got our inspiration from the Bioshock games.
Aiden loves these dystopian games, even though some of them are getting eerily close to current day events. Jack still has them on their 'I need to play this one day' list.

This is a one of a kind colorway. The recipe for this colorway is not written down and it may never be reproduced.

The nylon in this base is biodegradable. It does not degrade until it reaches the garbage processing facility and special enzymes and micro-organisms are added to the waste. These break down the biodegradable nylon in the course of 3 years instead of the 40 years it takes most man-made fibers to be broken down.

Dye Technique(s) Used:
  • Variegated
About This Yarn Base:

Fiber contents: 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Bio-Degradable Nylon
Weight per skein: 100 grams | 3,5 oz
Running Length: 400 meters | 437 yards
Yarn Weight: Fingering / Sock
Threads: 4-ply spun
Rarity: Rarely Stocked

This smooth, 4-threaded fingering weight yarn is a perfect mash up between the softness of merino wool and the longevity of nylon, with a biodegradable twist. It knits up perfectly for garments and other next-to-skin soft items.

BIOSOCK is our first yarn base that uses biodegradable nylon. This yarn will last as long as any other nylon blend since the nylon will only degrade when it reaches the garbage processing facility. There, special enzymes and micro-organisms are added to the waste, which break down the biodegradable nylon in the course of 3 years instead of the 40 years it takes most man-made fibers to be broken down.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION WHEN PURCHASING HAND DYED YARN!

When purchasing hand dyed yarns, we recommend you purchase a sufficient amount of yarn for your project.

We sell handmade products that get produced in small batches. We always use the same recipes for repeatable colorways and work very precise measuring our materials. However, it's impossible to guarantee two skeins will ever look the same. With hand made products there is always some variation on the end product.

If you want a uniform result with the end product you are making, with knitting, crochet and weaving, alternate skeins once rows. If using fiber, you can mix and match some of the fibers as you go when spinning or felting.

When dyeing yarn we fully exhaust all pigments before going to the rinsing step. Despite the care we put into the rinsing process, mild bleeding is common in hand dyed yarn and if you have a skein with a bright or dark color, or it contains speckles, play it safe by rinsing the skein in cold water and some wool wash and let it dry before casting on.

If you want more information on how to care for hand dyed yarn, please follow this link.

This listing is for one (1) skein of yarn unless specifically mentioned otherwise. Photos of multiple skeins shows a comparison between yarn bases and/or skeins. Colorways may slightly vary depending on the screen due to your display settings.
