The sun is shining outside, which means it is about time I cooked up a little something for the best season of the year… Halloween. Yes, I know. It’s April. I said what I said.
The Neon Nightmares yarn box contains 5 skeins of hand dyed yarn, and depending on your preference, it comes with trinkets. Little treats. Possibly cursed. Who’s to say...
It embodies the feel of Halloween with a funtastical Undercover Otter twist. Not the soft, candlelit cottage-core version of the festival (which I also love, but I can't dye it to save my life). So I’m sticking to my neon-loving guns for this one. Expect eerie electric glows from buzzing neon signs. Empty streets at midnight, storefronts throwing acid pinks and toxic greens onto rain-slick pavement. Bright, high-voltage color, but with something slightly unsettling running through it. A little nostalgia (I am an 80's kid after all) in a trippy way, like a dream that shifts halfway through and now you’re not entirely sure you want to be there anymore.

Base Options
When signing up, you get to pick your preferred base. Because chaos is fun, but controlled chaos is even better.
For fingering or sock weight the options are:
- Squirm Sock: The Undercover Otter classic. This 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon high twist yarn is soft, sturdy, and ready to rock.
- Spellbound: A lush blend of 55% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester and 45% silk that catches the light in a way that reflects in the most delicious way.
If you’re more of a DK person, I’ve got you:
- Jump Scare DK: 100% Superwash Merino. Plump, cozy, and perfect for projects that need a little spring. 230 meters of soft, squishy goodness on a 115 grams skein.
- Spellbound DK: Brings that same lush blend of Superwash BFL and Silk to the table, with a slightly heavier weight.
Spellbound is a base I’ve wanted to work with for ages, and I’m genuinely thrilled to finally unleash it here. It takes color in a way that feels almost alive, which, frankly, fits the theme a little too well.

Sign-ups are open now, close in August, and the box ships in September, right when the nights start closing in. As nature intended.

Shipping Information
How do you ship?
All parcels are packaged with care in bio-degradable shipping bags or cardboard packages. We use PostNL for all shipments. They are the most reliable party for us at an affordable rate.
We use recycled or biodegradable shipping materials.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated by the total weight of your order and the location your order is shipped to. The total amount for shipping is added in the final step of checkout. Note that I charge the exact cost I get charged by PostNL. Free shipping is available from certain thresholds.
Do you ship worldwide?
We can ship to almost every country in the world. There are some exceptions where postal services aren't able to deliver items. If you want to know if we ship to your country of residence, please check out the shipping calculator on the cart page.
Orders with a value of 135GBP or less, can not be shipped by Undercover Otter due to UK taxation rules. Areas we can not ship to: British Indian Ocean Territory, Central African Republic, Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Congo - Brazzaville, Cook Islands, French Southern Territories, U.S. Outlying Islands.
When does my order ship?
We ship orders within 5 - 7 workdays (Monday-Friday) of receiving them.
How long does it take for my order to arrive?
Average Delivery Time from the moment you get a shipping confirmation:
Netherlands: 2 - 5 working days
Europe: 1 - 2 weeks
North America: 2 - 6 weeks
Asia & Australia: 2 - 6 weeks
No rights can be derived from these estimates. Depending on the shipping company, time of year and other shenanigans like strikes, floods, and zombie apocalypses, your order may arrive sooner or later.
Do you combine orders?
In very rare occasions we will combine shipping. Please contact us if your shipping for multiple orders needs to be combined. Once your order is shipped, combining orders is no longer an option.
Is there order tracking available?
All orders are sent out tracked and a tracking code is sent to you in the shipping confirmation email. This tracking code will also provide you with a link to the shipping company used. Please track your order using these details before you contact us. In some cases PostNL will hand the parcel over to the shipping company in your country. For instance: All packages to the USA will be handled by USPS once they arrive in the country. They will be traceable on the USPS website accordingly.
What if my order goes missing?
Only orders that are sent with an insured shipping method will be refunded or replaced in case your order goes missing during shipping. If your order has not shown up after 6 weeks, please contact us. We can not start missing parcel investigations before this 6 week window is closed. If you opt for uninsured shipping, you accept that you are not eligible for a refund or replacement item.
