Squirm, is now available in undyed skeins!

Our new and improved Squirm Sock yarn base is softer and bouncier than ever! Squirm is custom spun for Undercover Otter and is not available for wholesale elsewhere. Squirm takes acid dye colors vividly and saturates easily.

Squirm is designed with 80% Superwash Merino and 20% Nylon. Every skein has a running length of 400 meters per 100 gram skein. It is a springy high twist yarn with a 4-ply thread.

It has a velvety texture and is perfect for garments, socks and shawls. Squirm also works up amazing in crochet. This yarn is perfect for (beginning) dyers to experiment with, or if you want to add a neutral white color to your projects.

Undyed Squirm is available in quantities of 1, 5 or 10 skeins per pack.
We offer packs of 5 & 10 with and without labels.

Squirm is our favorite yarn base when it comes to bouncy, soft, squishy yarn and it's now better than ever before! Squirm is custom spun for Undercover Otter and is not available elsewhere.

Squirm is a high twist, 4-ply, fingering weight yarn, made with 80% Superwash Merino Wool (21.5 microns) and 20% Nylon. Each skein contains approximately 400 meters per 100 grams (that's 437 yards per 3.5 oz). The high twist gives the yarn a velvety look and feels next to skin soft.

Squirm is perfect for making socks, shawls, cowls and other garments that need a bit of extra cushion. It's also great for knitting or crocheting toys or any other projects that you want to be extra soft and squishy! It is not only soft but also very durable, making it perfect for garments that you want to have in your life for a long time.

Important Information

When purchasing hand dyed yarns, we recommend you purchase a sufficient amount of yarn for your project.

We sell handmade products that get produced in small batches. We always use the same recipes for repeatable colorways and work very precise measuring our materials. However, it's impossible to guarantee two skeins will ever look the same. With hand made products there is always some variation on the end product.

If you want a uniform result with the end product you are making, with knitting, crochet and weaving, alternate skeins once rows. If using fiber, you can mix and match some of the fibers as you go when spinning or felting.

When dyeing yarn we fully exhaust all pigments before going to the rinsing step. Despite the care we put into the rinsing process, mild bleeding is common in hand dyed yarn and if you have a skein with a bright or dark color, or it contains speckles, play it safe by rinsing the skein in cold water and some wool wash and let it dry before casting on.

This listing is for one (1) skein of yarn unless specifically mentioned otherwise. Photos of multiple skeins shows a comparison between yarn bases and/or skeins. Colorways may slightly vary depending on the screen due to your display settings.
