Every now and then there are skeins of yarn who get stuck on the island. Sometimes it's because their dye-bath siblings got bought for a sweater, and they were just not needed to make that specific garment.
Other times they are experiments that we haven't unleash upon the world yet. Like some of the colorways that get the Igor moniker (our name for one of a kind colors).
Or they are skeins of yarn that we've dyed in yarn bases that we wanted to test, have discontinued or just found while taking inventory (I'll be honest, we found some surprising undyed gems in our recent move).
In any case, these lovely skeins end up on the Island of Misfit Skeins. It's one of the many islands that make up the archipelago of fiber crafts, that also holds sleeve island, where many travelers have ended up in the past, sometimes accompanied by a volleyball.
